Two Chicago servers 206 & 151 have bad erratic bad ping that causes bad gaming experience - laggy, slow - I get pings of ~150

Send a SS to your ISP tech dept and complain, although they'll note that a 100-ping is good enough from their point of view, like they would accept it for their gaming.

The ping plotter I use gives the locations of the hops, that might help.

If it is unusually high for a while, it usually gets better at some point, too.

Can you post that link, Vespid?

The problem is outside my ISP area (Alberta Canada) - it's with some servers in Chicago area

This is the plotter I use, I think many SBS have it:

Pingplotter

Good luck on this, Wiz.

Thanks, got it

The Chicago "dist1-g1-2-chcgil/ameritech.net" is very erratic with to 10% packet loss this morning
and the server before that "ex1-g8-0s1.eqsjca.sbcglobal.net" is slow 120+ ms

Traffic jam into Chicago - packets are in holding pattern circling and dropping like flys. Ahhh
